What we Believe

DeColores Ministries of Grand Rapids is not a church, but we exist to support the Church. Our goals are threefold:

 1.   To present the truth and beauty of the Gospel of Jesus Christ through a short course in Christianity that unfolds during a weekend retreat.

2.   To revive Christians in their discipleship journey and offer the opportunity to pay forward the gift of encouragement they receive on their weekend.

3.   To encourage our members to become rooted in love and service in their local congregation, communities, and places of employment.

  • The Holy Scriptures

    The Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. From Genesis to Revelation, it is God the Father, Jesus the Son of God, and the Holy Spirit story of the creation, fall, redemption, and restoration of the world.

  • God the Father

    God the Father is sovereign over all things. While all people are created in His image, only those who accept the free gift of salvation offered through His Son, Jesus, are considered His true children.

  • Jesus Christ the Son

    Jesus Christ is the second person of the Trinity, the living Word through which everything was created. At the right time, he entered the world, fully God and fully man, through the miracle of the virgin birth. By His perfect obedience, He was able to offer the perfect sacrifice for all sin. Through His death on the cross and resurrection, He delivers all who trust in Him from the punishment and power of sin and death. He ascended into heaven and now serves as mediator between us and God. One day he will return to reign with believers in a restored world.

  • The Holy Spirit

    The third Person of the Trinity convicts God’s chosen sons and daughters of sin and, through their confession, repentance and new birth, leads them into the family of God and Christian fellowship. There they are discipled and learn to make disciples. The Holy Spirit indwells the bodies of believers when they surrender their lives to Him. The Spirit teaches us to love God, empowers us to follow Jesus, and equips us with spiritual gifts to serve others.

  • The Good News

    God desires fellowship with children!  He graciously provided a bridge from sin and eternal death to freedom and eternal life through a spotless Lamb, His Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus is the Gospel (Good News), and He is the only One who can reconcile us to the Father. This salvation is the free gift of God to all who repent and confess the name of Jesus.

  • Family

    The Bible clearly states that marriage is a union between one man and one woman and that sexual union should only take place within the context of the marriage relationship.

    Human life is sacred from the moment of conception to natural death.

  • The Church

    The Church is Christ’s body in the world, made up of all believers who bow to God’s authority in their lives and seek to follow Jesus. Together, they are commissioned to make Christ-followers of all nations. The Church is part of God’s design to equip believers while together glorifying God through worship, service, teaching, discipleship, and evangelism.
